No doubt about it, Janella is pretty. From the looks of it, the next batch of teen idols will sustain the popularity of the current trailblazing crop. The way was already made for them in many parts of the world, Let's just hope no ugly dachshund passes through. Sometimes Pinoys mistake Diversity with being a slow-witted sucker (uto-uto). I can just see the world running scared if suddenly a cross-eyed, a hooked jaw or a horsey face make pa-cute to them. Janella is really pretty but the song kinda sucks. Even my mother quipped," pang-kapanahunan pa ni Vilma Santos ito". I hope ABS-CBN should send the Starmusic bigwigs for a Reorientation Seminar at Viva so that they realize there's a new sleek wind blowing in the Philippines. Let's not be hobbled by hackneyed notions of a masa this time & not be led through the nose by outdated inertia.

Well, Miss Megan Young will reprise the title role of Mexican actress Thalia in the new Tagalog version of the hit Mexican telenovela, Marimar.
The first Pinoy version starring Marian Rivera was shown in Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, China, Equitorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Hawaii, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia.

DUBBED PINOY TELESERYE: "Marimar" in Kenya in English, that's the video, BUT I Have Some Unrelated Commentaries on Showbiz "SPIN", etc.
We should be shouting more that Pinoy teleseryes are a hit in many countries of the world. I was amazed to confirm they are. Most Filipinos actually ignore them. The high ratings that you read in the papers don't reflect the reality to most Filipinos. I grew up with nobody talking to me about Pinoy showbiz. If ever I had the curiosity, I was repulsed by what I saw- that was the time of Jolina & her gang- which made me totally avoid local TV then. The next time I got curious, there was this host of a TV show who looked "cross-eyed" to me and that turned me off again. It's only when I was doing this blog that I learned her name and it turned out she was actually a big actress. How did a "cross-eyed" lady become a big actress here, that really became a big puzzle to me. Have we sunk that low? As for movies, only a manute portion of our population bother. Our hits are considered big if about a million people have seen it (PHP150 million gross). That's laughable considering our population is 100 million. One of the things I learned in starting this blog (which started as a joke but ended up becoming an eye-opener) is that we can actually be big-time if we just be truthful to our spins. If we can spin a cross-eyed girl and sell her to the gullible, why not spin truthfully & attract the sane majority instead?Forthcoming Teleseryes in Kazakhstan: Good Stories & Forgettable Stars
There are talks in Kazakhstan social media these 4 teleseryes might be released there (two are being shown, Forevermore & Dream Dad) . If true, that's just a confirmation the first one, Forevermore, really made a big splash. The biggest fan club of the series had twice bigger membership in two months than the entire run of the South Korean Boys Over Flowers (I'll detail the comparison in a separate forthcoming article). I am sure the plots of the other teleseryes will interest the ordinary Kazakh housewives. There's a hitch: you can feel, the great impact of Enrique Gil & Liza Soberano is not being generated with Dream Dad. You can virtually feel the thermometer dipping. I'm pretty sure, from Two Wives to Bagito, the hotness factor will have to do more dipping. By the time Bagito, with its ordinary-looking stars, is shown, I actually fear the goodwill earned by Enrique Gil will have been dissipated, or worse, forgotten. What comes to mind is Be Careful With My Heart, where the the
teleserye was actually well-received everywhere but you hardly read a wimp about the forgettable stars.Let's not forget the South Korean experience. The problem of South Korea is they don't have a deep bench of beautiful people to convert as stars. Every country has its share of beautiful people, it only varies on the number, and it was okay for South Korea in the beginning when it produced relatively fewer film features, but as its film industry grew to $1.9 billion recently, they had to produce more & as a result, needed more stars, but the lack of adequate candidates was very obvious. The quality of its stars suffered as a result. There was simply too few really beautiful people to go around, and plastic surgery can only do so much, in fact, it had negative impact as people balked at being enchanted by obviously fake beauties with fake jaws, etc. This is one of the reasons of the cooling of interest outside the Mongoloid zone of Northeast Asia, which proves looks of the stars are still important. That is also one of the factors why the Philippines was able to establish its niche in many areas (of course, aside from the fact, we have competitive story-telling too, considering we have been producing films longer than anybody in our neighborhood). And though the Pinoy artists are openly admired as better-looking than the other Asian stars, the quality of the local stars is slipping. Probably a new Pinoy producer, proud that a million out of the 100 million Filipinos (PHP150 million gross) are watching his films, would contentedly decide he's a success, and since the "good stories, forgettable surgical looks" formula of South Korea is still somewhat working in non-discriminating markets, why not copy it and do "good stories, cross-eyed stars" instead, anyway it is very Pinoy to be "puwede naman e". He forgot we have a deep bench of beautiful people and we can afford to use only beautiful ones all the way and we still have many extras waiting, and in the process, using beauty as extra come-on to make our brand hotter. And probably entice ten million more Filipinos to watch? And produce more stars abroad that stand out like Kristine Hermosa & Marian Rivera, the only two actresses who stood out abroad in our two decades of teleserye-making?
The Kazakhstan adventures of our Pinoy teleseryes will be interesting to monitor. I am keeping pulse on the social media responses considering Kazakhstan has no formal rating system.

HOW POPULAR ABROAD ARE OUR PINOY ARTISTS? Let's start with Marian Rivera, the most popular Pinay actress internationally
I have been curious about the popularity (bankable) overseas of Pinoy artists. I was scanning the Facebook stats, and did you know that the most famous Pinoy showbiz personality outside the country is Marian Rivera? Does the Facebook figures of an artist tally with the popularity of her works inside a particular country? Or just hype, mere empty bragging right? Her Philippine figures are not as big (which doesn't mean much beside the local hype considering the teleserye & box-office performance of those with supposedly bigger figures than her didn't tally much with their supposed popularity; I just hope no digital miracles which anybody familiar with the technology can engineer, were involved), but the widespread popularity of Ms. Rivera really surprised me: she had nearly a million in Vietnam (which tallied with her actual popularity there because she was voted as the Favorite Foreign Artist for 2014). Not so far behind is Malaysia, and you only have to read Malaysian blogosphere & watch Malaysian TV clips on Youtube to appreciate her impact as the most popular Pinay actress in Malaysia (I can also speak Bahasa Melayu). I compared her Facebook breakdown figures with the other contemporary Pinay actresses who had their teleseryes shown overseas and they didn't even make a dent in comparison. It only means their types can only be popular in the Philippines. It only means the Philippine scene mainly depends on hype, or is it more hype on top of other hypes?
A little research showed the teleseryes of Marian like Marimar, Dyesebel, etc. propelled her to her present status, following the footsteps of the only other Pinay actress who achieved regional popularity, Kristine Hermosa, who apparently captured the same heights with her teleseryes years back (Pangako Sa Yo, etc.).

Nadine Lustre and Kean Cipriano - Sa Ibang Mundo (Official Music Video) PHILPOP 2015
Kean Cipriano is one of the better-looking singers but he had some unflattering angles here. Meanwhile, Nadine looked fantastic mostly, her frames were taken cared of. For a change, she looked better than her partner, at least in a video. Another great music video from Viva. Kenzo Bailey: ASIANS ARE CUTER IN THE PHILIPPINES, alright!.... But What If Cute Pinoys Are Used As Political Stooges Instead by Outdated Forces?
My teenage assistants are back to school, that explains the dearth of posts on the younger stars. I didn't want to disturb them but the younger of the two suddenly reported today. She has a video of "Bailey & Kenzo". I immediately guessed, that was the topic of the hairdresser when I had my haircut yesterday. He was mad at what he called "scripted bromance which was clearly planted to create controversy" because of the "dark agenda" of the many gays at ABS-CBN (he doesn't consider himself as bading because according to him, he's a mujer, he's pretty and "wala akong muscle gaya ng mga paminta sa ABS-CBN"). When I saw this video, I actually thought he had a point: he claimed the fact the camera focused too much on the two for long periods of time, as if the cameraman knew all along what's happening between the boys, proved that the controversy was scripted beforehand. I was actually amazed my hairdresser had a sharp deductive power after all. That explains why I always have a nice hair.Anyway, we agreed the two boys are cute and most of our foreign readers here are young girls on the lookout for Pinoy cutes. Because of Diary Ng Panget, the Philippines has become famous for its cutes. Asians are definitely cuter in the Philippines!
Though, I have a personal comment here: Pinoys are not really deep-thinkers, they get taken by the obvious arguments. This is part of an international project, I'm not sure who is the point-man here but media monopolies are obvious targets, and two projects were at work here, hitting two birds with one stone: the gay agenda & the boy-love or pederast agenda (Bailey is only 12 years old). The gay agenda is culminating in the West at a time when they are floundering economically (Will gays be the intended scapegoats for their impending bankruptcy?) and the boy-love is still on the wings. Follow the story of Allen Ginsberg, the original iconic frontman of this project which started in the 1960's. This fiasco confirms many in the responsible position here in our country really don't have the depth to understand the bigger picture relative to our sensibilities. Or worse, they are in cahoots, which seems likely.
Anyway, removed from the scheming hands, this video could be innocent....
(NOTE: The video was deleted in Youtube. I have a copy of it like all the videos we published here, and there are still many videos available in the Net but we don't know the story behind, probably the parents of the boys concerned were aggrieved? The video was just used to confirm they are cute anyway, and they are).

THE MOST HILARIOUS SABOTAGE # 1: Let's Start with the LAUGH-HITS... The Not Quite Harmless Funny Ones
I guess it's always wise to know your "friend". It's weird receiving nicely a guest then all the while you discover he's been doing weirder things against you on the sly. I think it's just fair to let out we all know the score.
If you've been reading our SCANDALS series, we have stumbled upon an international sabotage of rising Pinoy teen stars and surprisingly, in this connected age, it's easy to connect the dots. From the Spanish-speaking areas to the Russian-speaking areas. But they are also active locally. They have their own mercenaries here.
The good thing is they are reading us, even the Comments, & reacting accordingly. Very obvious are the actions of the foot soldiers for covert kpop promotions using hit Pinoy videos, those pretending to be fans of local artists in YouTube, gushing heavily in their comments on the Pinoy pop artists (but notice, always ululating about Kpop in the process), and when you click their names, you would be led into a page full of South Korean clips but no clips of the local star being gushed over by the alleged fan. Meaning they didn't like the videos that they were gushing over because if they did like them, the local videoclips would have appeared on that page (Moreover, most of them actually used the names of the South Korean Kpop stars as their username, a more blatant advertisement, or aggressively denigrating the video and comparing it with Kpop). That was in May when we released the first part of the SCANDALS series (read the more than 200 Comments, their tactics were all enumerated there by a contributor). It's now July, and they have adjusted their tactics: they don't gush about Kpop that much anymore openly in the thread, not overtly aggressive anymore, and when you click their names, a page full of South Korean clips will still welcome you but they have clips of liked local videos already though the liked local videos are in the middle lost amidst the South Korean clips or bottom of the page. The size of their local mercenary network is apparently huge, a big percentage use the same tactics.
Kpop is propped up by propaganda and as you'll read later in the series, it is propaganda itself. But it is a kind of parasitic propaganda that needs a host, and the hosts are the hospitable partners. We could understand it's for supposedly Asian soft power, but make that Mongoloid soft power, and the Philippines doesn't fit the narrative. But that's getting ahead of the story, we'll discuss this later in our SCANDALS series. As a curious student of propaganda myself (mainly political before), it was not hard to decipher the codes in this little game. SELF-DELUSION KOREAN-STYLE: Trying-Hard "Beauties" (Or How To Pretend Beautiful When Nobody Takes Seriously Your Face)
This is gonna be hilarious...
I featured before the strange sabotage of hit Pinoy teen films whose beautiful stars enchanted the Asiatic film-loving communities worldwide late last year. If you've been following the Comments in the article, you probably had noticed the following comment, it more or less summed up the possible underlying psychopathology which could have engendered the little mess: (comment about the South Koreans)
... Laos na nga sila but that will make them more dangerous. Kasi there is a delusional aspect to these people- they were never known as beautiful but they have this project to project themselves as beautiful, complete with a big propaganda machinery & it's actually weird watching them undergo extensive face modification just to change how they look. What's laughable is that they now have the gall to designate themselves as arbiters of beauty and many actually have fooled themselves they are beautiful and they don't wait for others to tell them, they say it outright (look at their publicity) as if they were indoctrinated brainwashed North Koreans (they are from the South). Which made them tiring to a lot of people in the long run. But while they were able to fool in the beginning, it's clear people, particularly in the Philippines, aren't buying that delusion anymore, the novelty is gone & we are just being polite publicly but privately they are already laughed at. That makes them dangerous, when they realize they are no longer fooling anybody, baka mabaliw sila
One wonders why the South Koreans feel so free to assume they can comment flippantly about the physical looks of Filipinos. Filipinos are more celebrated for their beauty than the South Koreans, which were never known as models of pulchritude in the first place, so you wonder what angst was the wellspring of this presumptuousness. Psychopathology like self-delusion, perhaps? Very telling is this little video where the self-deception is very evident. South Korean celebrities have been long notorious for their extensive face modification in order to have more Western features and in this little clip, you can see how their minds seemed to have been distorted as well to maintain their self-respect (& the delusion of beauty, needless to say). There are six South Korean celebrities commenting here, four of whom we may call ordinary-looking and two, including the male, not at all attractive. So nobody is beautiful among them but they just had to comment on the looks of the Pinoy actors.

1) The South Koreans have been ridiculed for their love of double lid operations because they were born with narrow monoeyelid which made them chinky-eyed. Many Westerners & non-Mongoloid Filipinos are naturally born with monoeyelid too, only that their eyelids are wide, they don't need a second surgically invented eyefold to make them appear not chinky eyed. Unlike the South Koreans who have to undergo an operation to give them a second lid. And in their minds, the Filipinos just got to have a double eyelid too because the handsome Pinoys don't have their chinky-eyes. Funny, but it appears, for them, the surgical "double-lid" has become "the" normal; others just got to have "double lid" too just because the South Koreans get a second lid after Plastic Surgery.
2) They just had to dismiss outright any Western blood in Asians, revealing their extreme insecurity (& envy?). Marian Rivera bore the brunt of their insecurities (& envy?) here. BUT: if Western features invalidated one as an Asian, why then do they have to undergo extensive Plastic Surgery to acquire Western features? Many Filipinos don't have to undergo Plastic Surgery, they have it in their genes, so aren't they the more natural Asians? It's clear this hypocritical pretension to Asianness is just a ready defense mechanism so they don't have to face the fact that they are the inferior beauties they delude themselves not to be.
(If Nationalism is the refuge of the scoundrel, it seems it can also be a refuge of the ugly who can't believe he's ugly).
3) They speak as if trying to make themselves as arbiters of beauty. Why should their makeup matter to us, why would we want to look like them? Some nerve, its laughable actually. Well, it's too ridiculous to comment further, my eyes are wet from too much laughing.

Blogging is mostly fun but it could be testy at times. My foreign readers are a priority to me, but they are mostly Jadine fans because whenever I miss a post on James Reid for two days, there would be a noticeable drop in clicks from the South American countries. But you post even the shortest video and, as if they have their own communication though they are scattered in many countries, they are suddenly back. LOL.Anyway, we've been receiving emails asking for the next installment of our SCANDALS series. Unfortunately, I can only do those when I have the time. I now allot about 30 minutes for the blog per day, doing an "investigative" article takes more than an hour. The next chapters of our SCANDALS series will take longer because we are now at the part where I have to tackle the Racism issues & that's not really fun, we have to tread lightly there because it can get sensitive if we do it haphazardly. Pinoys are not racists and it really saddens me to realize some people are quite active in that kind of game. The only consolation is that the type of racism we have here is actually laughable if you really think about it because the racists are not exactly the type who should even be in the business of pretending to be racists. But it still saddens me because it is all so useless if you get what I mean.
