I guess this blog was successful in its mission. To highlight the upsurge of Pinoy showbiz outside the Philippines, with its young loveteams as spearhead. There is now a wider realization that not only are Pinoy young stars with their Latin-Asian looks, but Pinoy teleseryes in general, are making their mark in many parts of the world. That Pinoy teleserye in particular is one of the top telenovela products in the world, competing with the top heavyweights like the Mexican, Turkish & Indian in the major markets. The top Pinoy loveteams Kathniel, JaDine & LizQuen are no longer just adulated in the Philippines but in many countries beyond Philippine shores.
Prior to this blog, everything was just anecdotal, and as so often happened with anecdotes, they just fluttered for a few moments before being immediately relegated to oblivion. I needed to keep a more organized record of what was then developing gingerly beyond our shores. Everything started when I accidentally noted the response to Pinoy young stars in the pirate sites. Being multi-lingual, I immediately decoded a new reality just developing, a genuine fan base born not out of a propaganda smoke machine or government intervention. I guess the innate inferiority complex of the Pinoy as a result of an almost endemic economic & political incompetence never even tickled anybody to suspect of this possibility. But the reality was there & I just had to transition my blog from a prank to a celebration. We had the ingredients in the first place: an impressive cultural history which unfortunately never found enough confidence to assert itself, & natural multi-racial good looks which win over the disparate racial prejudice of various groups.
I would like to think I helped in focusing everybody's attention and adjust to the new reality. I was the only one writing of what was happening on the teleseryes in Peru & everybody just invaded the Peruvian pages. Clearly, there is now a new confidence. Pinoy showbiz should no longer be the provincial entity relegated to the lower classes. It should strut according to its new status and relevance.
In Myanmar, the Pinoy loveteams are hot. The latest teleserye of the LizQuen loveteam of Enrique Gil & Liza Soberano is showing there after the successful run of their first teleserye Forevermore.

Ang galing. Teleserye has arrived na pala. Something Pilipinas can be proud of
Tago pala (no offens, mga manay, patawa lang, my lips are sealed).
DeleteBetter, yong mas may intrigue. Parang Bonnie & Clyde.
DeleteThey should not only think of the Philipine market, but also its international appeal, in coming up with the new serye kasi marami na nag-aabang sa next LQ serye sa labas
Like yong A Walk To Remember.
ReplyDeleteAm I right in saying successful ang blog na ito because it is read by the people who know & who count in this field?
ReplyDeleteDon't ask, just say it, it's a fact
DeleteKachin Chicken curry recipe
Deletehttp://www.wutyeefoodhouse.com/en/?p=243
Sarap. But there are many ways to do Kachin Chicken curry. It could be steamed para di greasy
DeleteIngredients
About 1 1/2 pounds chicken parts, chopped into about 15 pieces
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1 teaspoon salt
2 to 4 dried red chiles, seeded and minced
Scant 1 teaspoon ground coriander seed
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon water, or as needed
1 tablespoon peanut oil or vegetable oil, if slow-cooking
2 tablespoons minced scallion greens or chopped coriander (optional)
Instructions
Serves 4
Rinse the chicken pieces, remove most of the skin, and set aside. Place the chicken in a wide bowl.
Pound together the garlic, ginger, salt, chiles, coriander, and turmeric in a mortar to make a paste. Alternatively, mash the garlic and ginger with the side of a knife. Place in a small bowl, add the salt, chiles, coriander, and turmeric, and use the back of a spoon to blend them.
Stir the water into the paste, and add it to the chicken. Turn and mix the chicken and paste until the pieces are well coated. Set aside while you organize your cooking method.
If steaming the chicken: You need a shallow bowl that will fit into your steamer basket when the lid is on and that is large enough to hold all the chicken. You also need a pot that is just about the same diameter as your steamer, so that no steam escapes.
Pour about 3 inches water into the pot and set the steamer basket in the pot. Transfer the chicken and flavorings and the reserved skin to the wide shallow bowl and place in the steamer. Put on the steamer lid, then heat the water over high heat. When it comes to a strong boil, turn the heat down slightly. Steam the chicken until cooked through, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. Check on it after 45 minutes: be careful as you lift off the lid not to burn yourself on the steam, then stir the chicken so that pieces that are underneath will be exposed to the hot steam. Cover again and resume steaming.
Check one of the largest pieces of chicken for doneness after an hour or so. Also check that the pot has enough water and is not running dry. When all the chicken is cooked through, remove the steamer from the pot, again taking care not to burn yourself on the steam.
If slow-cooking the chicken: Add 2 tablespoons more water and the oil to the chicken. Place in a wide heavy pot with a tight-fitting lid, add the reserved skin, and stir to mix well. Place over medium-low heat, with the lid on, and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 1 hour, or until all the chicken is cooked through. The chicken will be bathed in a light sauce and will be tender and succulent.
To serve: Remove the skin and discard. Serve hot or at room temperature, topped, if you like, with a sprinkling of scallion greens or coriander.
Thanks, yan ang niluto kong ulam namin ngayon. Masarap nga, parang herbal adobo
DeleteMasarap, thanks
DeleteWow, ibang klase. May recipe pa. I'll try this, looks simple but delicious
DeleteThe only problem, parang wala yata akong makitang malakas na next-in-line LT.
DeleteWell, from what I heard, they are now building up BaiLona (Bailey May and Ylona Garcia). Pero too young kaya hinihintay nila mag mature pa ng kaunti. They are now undergoing workshops including yung pagsasalita ng tuwid na tagalog. In all fairness naman, malakas ang chemistry nila.
ReplyDeleteThen there is also Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto and McCoy De Leon and Elisse Joson (pero mukhang humina din agad for some reason.)
Too much of a comedown. Walang international appeal, to say the most obvious. Julia Joshua won't go far, ordinary yong guy kahit sabihing kamukha ni John Lloyd. Frankly we need more, letdown sila masyado
Haha, problema sa GMA, they have cute guys pero not so beautiful girls.
We should take a lesson from Jadine, kasi after a year, magigising na lang ang fan sa mga pantasya kasi nakakaasiwa na. Ma-allot ang resources sa mas may chances to be profitable for a longer time
Ekis. Mas ok pa ako kay Kisses Delavin.
DeleteI think swak ang Bailey May - Ylona Garcia tandem sa sinasabi mong tisoy boy and native girl. Yun nga lang bata pa masyado. O pwede ring JK - Andrea
Even Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion.
May teleserye sila.
Example is Quen. Usually kasi ang middle classes natin ang maganda dahil inasawa ng nagkakapera ang mga Tisay. pero ang mga artista natin kinukuha sa mga lower classes which the hafhaf are usually are- anak ng belyas sa Kano, etc.
DeleteBaka nakakalimutan nyo, meron pa si Marco Gallo.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Marco Gallo.
ABS has bunch of good writers and directors.
So we should protect our own din, wag pauuto especially we have proven na nagsasabotage sila sa atin while we welcome them wholly. One area is protect our own airwaves from the mapagkunwari & saboteurs para lalong magflourish ang Pinoy culture especially now that we have proven Pinoy teleserye & stars are flying high in many parts if the world on their own merits. What more if the government help with some push?
DeleteGma & Abscbn should talk para wag na silang magpalabas ng kdrama & they fight on their merits. Anyway marginal naman talaga ang mga to.
Agree.
Basta ako, both stations need to work out on their dramas. Wag na sana puro sampalan at puro kilig at KBP (Kidnapan, Barilan, Patayan) like, hello? That even not happens sa reality?
Dapat more realistic at kakaiba yung story. I commend The Better Half and siguro Wildflower na din at The Greatest Love.
GMA viewer ako pero I won't start a network war. It's good to know teleserye is thriving pero mas mabuti siguro kung dadami pa station dito gaya sa Indonesia para mas masaya.
DeleteWala namang nagkakalat eh. May network war ba dito?
DeleteLol.
Wala silang kasawaan.
ReplyDeleteAnong bansa yan?
DeleteSa Nigeria yata.
DeleteMaski yong freeTv, magaling mag-ulit.
DeleteI hate to agree with this.
So with the rest, may particular crowd na attracted sa kanila but not to the levelling extent gaya ng Big 3 for instance. It's not a coincidence why out of them, only James Reid came from that route, & 12% (1 out of 6) is too low a batting average to rely on
DeleteAppealing both here & abroad. Tingnan natin now that he'll be paired with Angel
DeleteJudging sa success ng katipo nila sa Hollywood like Vanessa Hudgens, marami ang may possibilities if the right push was given. Ang importante ngayon, yong mga young loveteam natin meron silang appeal in all the geopolitical areas so far, though in varying degrees depende sa area. The important thing, generally, kinagat sila
DeleteSumakit yung bangs ko sa explanation mo. Haha pero you are on point
Lol
ReplyDeleteTypical insular mindset kaya from being the second most progressive in Asia, naging kulelat sa Asia. Mga clueless ang supposed-to-know better. Istoriya ng Pilipinas, throwing away its chances
Marami pa palang clueless ang nasa position to make a difference sana
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAnong clueless?
ReplyDeleteJust enjoy na lang ang KN, LQ at JD while they are there.
In short, telefantasya
DeleteIbig lang sabihin, telefantasya, as you call it,e posible pa ring mag-hit kasi universal trend yan. Can Pinoys do a credible telefantasya? Testcase nila ang Darna which they plan to approximate yong special effects ng Hollywood. May skills & imagination naman dito so posible they can do a credible fantasy. Sino bang mag-aakala na pwedeng sisikat ang Pinoy teleserye in many parts of the world in the first place gayong laging wala ngang bilib ang Pinoy sa sarili? Pinoys shouldn't be hard on themselves. Thry should push themselves & say they can.
DeleteRight.
But look at we know? Be it a Kapamilya o Kapuso star.
Siguro ang advantage naten e, we have the looks of an Asian, american, british and latino na su swak sa kahit na anong bansa.
Parang tayo ang Latin of Asia.
Very informative conversations. There's a bigger life outside the hada sa bagets sa kanto
DeleteOK, sabihin nyo nga, may matagumpay nabang telefantasya na naipalabas abroad?Sorry ha pero the truth hurts talaga, telefantasya is not our thing at huwag nating isugal dito ang Lizquen dahil siguradong pag di pumatok yan ay siguradong ikakabagsak nila yan.
In short, kaya kung kaya.
Deletefyi the Philipines has been the fastest growing country in the fastest growing continent in the world, Asia, recently, sometimes second, but it doesn't remove the fact gumagalaw na rin ang ekonomiya natin pagkatapos ng mahabang panahon. Many economic experts believe we're on the right tract, HSBC predicted we'll be the 16th richest country in the world by 2050, the richest in Southeast Asia.
ReplyDeletePara may masabing butal, heto pang 101.
Delete102
Delete103 hihihi
DeleteAlright that's enough, nagkaka-kornihan na tayo d2.
Let's widen our understanding
Delete
