4 Pinoy Teleseryes Now Showing in Nigeria: FOREVERMORE/ PANGAKO SA YO/ DOBLE KARA/BE CAREFUL WITH MY HEART

Nigeria is the biggest country in Africa, an oil power, and it is the center of Nollywood, the second biggest movie industry in the world behind India's Bollywood.

Currently, there are four Pinoy teleseryes being shown in Nigeria.

SO HOW IS ELNELLA DOING? They just had a duet in a London Barrio Fiesta

So how is the newest of the Big 4 young love teams in the Philippines doing? They not only had topped the world Twitter count when their first teleserye came out. They also found the time to sing a duet in front of their fans in London. Now we have a loveteam where both members are actually very good singers.

Big 4 Pinoy Young Loveteams: KATHNIEL, LIZQUEN, JADINE.... ELNELLA?

KATHNIEL: Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla
LIZQUEN: Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano
JADINE: James Reid, Nadine Lustre
ELNELLA: Elmo Magalona, Janella Salvador

Pinoy young love teams became hot items in many parts of the world. They may lack a big propaganda machine behind them to create smokes-and-mirrors of contrived popularity but their more palatable natural cuteness made them the Asian young stars who harvested  the biggest wow points wherever they were shown. Yes, Asians could be cute and hot, especially if  they were Kathniel, Lizquen, Jadine and soon- Elnella.

Their teleserye Born For You is yet to be shown on June 20, but I have a strong hunch the Elmo-Janella love team will make it. I can feel there will be another box-office Pinoy loveteam to join the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine loveteams.  The more, the merrier. More Cute Pinoys to carry the flag of Asia.

SOON, THE BIG FOUR?: Janella & Elmo's Teleserye "Born For You" This June

Soon, we'll know if we have to add a fourth love team to the current Big Three of successful Philippine young love teams. Elmo Magalona & Janella Salvador have all the requisite creds- good looks, pedigree, talent and a teleserye with a cute plot that just might capture big-time the hearts of the masses.

As a bonus, they have international appeal, just like the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine love teams. From the looks of it, the Philipine brand just keeps getting stronger.

CYRNELLA, CYNELLA, JANYRUS, JANERUS?

We received a curious email from a Pinoy-Aussie reader in Sydney. She mentioned one of the comments in one of our previous posts where it was stated that  a shortage of really cute leading men in the present batch of stars resulted in pretty Janella Salvador not having the appropriate loveteam. Inasmuch as Pinoy stars are starting to make their presence felt in many parts of the world, why should we not accelerate the process and recruit expatriate Pinoy mestizos who are already making their mark in their home countries. Definitely, these kids are ready-made connectors to a wider international audience.

These kids have been winning in many parts of the world. We just featured Pinoy-Austrian Lukas Janisch winning the Voice Kid in Germany.

Our Pinoy-Aussie reader wrote we should not forget another mestizo,  Pinoy-Aussie Cyrus Villanueva, winning the X-Factor last year in Australia.

Our reader asked, Don't you agree 19-year old Cyrus is very bagay with 17-year old Janella?

She had a point, didn't she?

Marlo Mortel and Janella Salvador - Mananatili (Official Music Video)

MarNella. There's a little thriller cutely swirling around this loveteam: their last film together Haunted Mansion suddenly clicked at the box-office just as they seemed to be ripped apart and Janella paired with somebody else in an upcoming TV serial. Then they were paired anew for this cute song. But wait, the teleserye (starring Janella & Elmo Magalona) is still to be shown. Hmm...

What do you think? How would our little thriller end?

HOT NEW LOVETEAMS TO WATCH FOR 2016?

I asked five of my female friends who they think among certain new loveteams will shine in 2016.  Like me, they only got hooked on Pinoy films last year. All are well-educated successful professionals so not the typical showbiz hags, their choices were most likely well-considered more from logical parameters because their mental faculties normally work that way. Actually, I gave them a choice of 10 pairs. Just for variety, I juggled the pairings of the established loveteams on top of the new ones being groomed by the studios.  These were the Top 3, from the top, the Number 3, down to Number 1.

The Year of Janella: HAUNTED MANSION & BORN FOR YOU Trailers

Well, I've been very open about my admiration at the beauty of 17 year-old Janella Salvador. Her film "Haunted Mansion" was a surprise hit of last year's Metro Manila Filmfest (it is still going strong, ranking 4th in the boxoffice tally as of this writing, easily beating films of more veteran stars at her ABS-CBN home studio).

Box-office Gross (as of December 27, 2015 at 4PM)
1. My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore - P159M
2. Beauty and the Bestie - P 131M
3. #Walang Forever - P 36M
4. Haunted Mansion - P 29M

Just as her first film with her erstwhile loveteam Marlo Mortel, grabbed attention, here comes the news she will have a new loveteam with Elmo Magalona in her forthcoming teleserye., "Born For You"..

A beautiful team-up, I must say. Pinoy loveteams just keep going from strength to strength.

Janella Salvador - Harana Na Na Na Na (Official Lyric Video)

I love featuring Janella. At her age, she's already pretty and oozing with sex appeal. The song she is singing here sucks but just lower the volume or better, just mute it. Best consider this as a photoshoot: the photos used here really showed the budding beauty that is Janella.

BTW, Janella is a good singer with a nice voice. I can imagine her singing in an international pop stage someday. She is definitely more beautiful than Rihanna or Ariana Grande. It's just a matter of giving her a nice song to sing.

JANELLA SALVADOR - Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso (Official Lyric Video)

Well, I love featuring Janella because it tickles me one of our future stars is gonna be pretty and sexy (sex appeal can't be faked by plastic surgery as proved by neutered trying-hards elsewhere in Villainlandia). I just hope all our stars will be beautiful and sexy as well. Frankly, in a land obsessed with beauty, there's no reason why the crossed-eyed and the horsey-faced should even dare appearing on our screens.

Too bad this song was recorded when the Starmusic people were still stuck in their clueless stage. But there's hope, the latest MV of Miss Constantino hinted of a changing breeze.

IT GIRLS RETURN: Kathryn, Liza, Julia and Janella

These cute girls are better as actresses than singers but what the heck, they are pretty anyway. They are the next big actresses of Pinoy cinema and that's very reassuring, our future superstars will all be pretty for once. Perfect eyes, perfect faces.

JANELLA SALVADOR - Ganyan Talaga (Official Lyric Video)

No doubt about it, Janella is pretty. From the looks of it, the next batch of teen idols will sustain the popularity of the current trailblazing crop. The way was already made for them in many parts of the world, Let's just hope no ugly dachshund passes through. Sometimes Pinoys mistake Diversity with being a slow-witted sucker (uto-uto). I can just see the world running scared if suddenly a cross-eyed, a hooked jaw or a horsey face make pa-cute to them.

Janella is really pretty but the song kinda sucks. Even my mother quipped," pang-kapanahunan pa ni Vilma Santos ito". I hope ABS-CBN should send the Starmusic bigwigs for a Reorientation Seminar at Viva so that they realize there's a new sleek wind blowing in the Philippines. Let's not be hobbled by hackneyed notions of a masa this time & not be led through the nose by outdated inertia.

Beauty Is Back in Pinoy Showbiz!!!

Girl screams are loud again in the Philippines, youth films & teleseryes are resurgent, that is because really beautiful young people have returned. In the past, "pangmasa" was the convenient (though it turned out, ignorant) reason for recruiting ordinary-looking stars, but those years were the years of doldrums & lost interest (I was one of those turned off by the stars then). It is clear the masa doesnt want to be patronized, it was probably insulted that it was judged as having poor taste. Why should she identify with a duck when she wanted to be a peacock? She herself can change her own reality, not outdated social engineers who probably can't even fathom the world beyond their talking points. So the beautiful actors & actresses returned & Pinoy showbiz is bubbling again. Even me, already a professional, has mixed in.

Media can only alter reality so much- in a country obsessed with beauty, you can't switch an ostrich with a pig. Or you can't fawn over a duck when there are peacocks.

"Oh My G" Teleserye OST: "I Can" Music Video by Janella Salvador

It's nice to know the young stars of Pinoy showbiz continue to strengthen the Philippine Brand: really beautiful Asians which don't rely on Plastic Surgery or special make-up for their beauty but from their fantastic multi-racial genes which should make every Asian proud.

It's Holy Week, I'm still on vacation,  but my teenager assistants egged me to feature 17 year old Janella. Pretty girl, and what's nice with this video, there are lots of other pretty young girls, the Philippines is full of them.
