Triple Pinoy Treat in the Indonesian Top 20 TV Charts

When Pangako Sa 'Yo skyrocketed to Number 5 of the Indonesian charts, it was not the sole Pinoy entry into the Indonesian Top 20. The first episode of Untuk Selamanya (Magpahanggang Wakas) starring Arci Muñoz had its debut at the 14th place (nice move in resscheduling its first episode after Pangako Sa Yo, both the programs which preceded it, Ayu Anak Depok City & the one after it were taken along by the momentum of the PSY wave). Then at Number 20, a special on the songs of Jose Mari Chan was featured at station IVM, the top rater of the said station. Jose Mari Chan is one of the big Pinoy musical exports to Indonesia which included Eddie Peregrina, Victor Wood, Freddie Aguilar & Christian Bautista.

We have been monitoring the foray of aspiring Pinoy actor Teejay Marquez into Indonesian showbiz. He has made a remarkable progress in his two-week odyssey, he just landed a role in a local sinetron (teleserye). Indonesians have always been welcoming to Pinoy artists. While Teejay filmed his first sinetron, Southeast Asia's top balladeer Christian Bautista had his concert televised on February 15 as Valentine's offering of Indonesian TransTV. Christian first conquered Indonesia a decade ago when his regionwide hit The Way You Look At Me topped the local charts (all the Southeast Asian charts, for that matter). He never looked back, he has maintained his popularity in Indonesia through the years.

Not really an OPM, this is just a cover song, but it was already in the Number 6 position in yesterday's MYX Top 10 hit list. Christian looks so mature here, we have a hint on how the present idols will look like in a few years time.
Christian es el más famoso cantante de baladas en el sudeste asiático desde que lanzó su canción "The Way You Look At Me" hace una década.
