Big 4 Pinoy Young Loveteams: KATHNIEL, LIZQUEN, JADINE.... ELNELLA?

KATHNIEL: Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla
LIZQUEN: Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano
JADINE: James Reid, Nadine Lustre
ELNELLA: Elmo Magalona, Janella Salvador

Pinoy young love teams became hot items in many parts of the world. They may lack a big propaganda machine behind them to create smokes-and-mirrors of contrived popularity but their more palatable natural cuteness made them the Asian young stars who harvested  the biggest wow points wherever they were shown. Yes, Asians could be cute and hot, especially if  they were Kathniel, Lizquen, Jadine and soon- Elnella.

Their teleserye Born For You is yet to be shown on June 20, but I have a strong hunch the Elmo-Janella love team will make it. I can feel there will be another box-office Pinoy loveteam to join the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine loveteams.  The more, the merrier. More Cute Pinoys to carry the flag of Asia.

GAMBAR-GAMBAR DARI SATO BIOSKOP DI JAKARTA: "DUBMASH" dengan Teejay Marquez dan Jessica Mila

So the Indonesian-produced movie of Pinoy actor Teejay Marquez was finally shown in Jakarta. Apparently he was really received well by his Indonesian fans. The pictures were taken inside a mall cinema in Jakarta showing the film Dubmash.

TV Teaser | 'The Achy Breaky Hearts' | Ian Veneracion, Richard Yap, and Jodi Sta. Maria

I once wrote I was a belated Jodian. I was just planning to check the teleserye Pangako Sa Yo as part of my research for the blog, but I ended up watching the first 10 episodes for 5 hours straight.  A melodrama at that- a first! Well, they have a new film. Comedy. Let's see if I could find the time & the right circumstances to watch it in the cinema (I tried to watch Coleen Garcia's Love Me Tomorrow but I got so pissed off with the traffic I just turned back to join my friends in another gimmick. I'll just catch the DVD).

I only saw the first episode of their teleserye so I still have to see how the chemistry of Jodi & Richard plays up. The come-on of the movie is how they will jam it up with Jodian.

I long realized I was mostly a fan of younger Pinoy  stars but sometimes, the senior ones just had to have their way...

CUTE PINOY MONITOR: The Security Guard is a Bae named Amir Don Abbo

My friend is very active in the social media and she talks endlessly about what she called her "hot crushes" of the moment. She has been egging me to feature some of them for some time now and I finally relented when he pointed out this one. So even security guards here look as good as this.

Amir Don Abbo was formerly a student of Bicol University, and he came from Barcelona town, Sorsogon province, but it was while he was working as a security guard at the Gateway Mall in Cubao that his handsome face was discovered by connoisseurs in the social media. He is now known as the "Security Bae". Even from his amateur pictures, this security guard  looks more like a matinee idol than many of our actors.

Another proof of the beautiful scattered genes left to fertilize the Pinoy bloodline even in the remotest areas of the archipelago.

INTERRACIAL LOVETEAMS: From Filipinas to the World

The successful Philippine formula of developing interracial loveteams in romantic movies (between a mestizo boy & a native girl) which has been popularized internationally in 2014 by the Diary ng Panget film of the Jadine loveteam of James Reid & Nadine Lustre has become de rigueur in some multiracial South American romantic films. A minor adjustment was that a White boy was used instead of a mestizo, but just the same, the scheme relied on the same dynamics where native girls in a multiracial society ( like in the Hispanic societies of Latin America & the Philippines) usually grow up having first crushes on the cute mestizo/White boys who usually also belonged to a higher economic class. Breaking the barriers of race, class & love will always be hot stuff.

The most popular telenovela in Peru is Valiente Amor between a White boy & an indigena (native Indian girl).

 Valiente Amor (2016) - Peru

From Paraguay is a rom com about an indigenous seller of Chipa (a Paraguayan delicacy) & a White boy.

 La Chiperita (2015)- Paraguay

SOON, THE BIG FOUR?: Janella & Elmo's Teleserye "Born For You" This June

Soon, we'll know if we have to add a fourth love team to the current Big Three of successful Philippine young love teams. Elmo Magalona & Janella Salvador have all the requisite creds- good looks, pedigree, talent and a teleserye with a cute plot that just might capture big-time the hearts of the masses.

As a bonus, they have international appeal, just like the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine love teams. From the looks of it, the Philipine brand just keeps getting stronger.

WHAT IF...? ELLEN & BASTE DUTERTE IN A FILM?

I can dream, can't I?

She's not yet celebrated for it, but without her bragging about it, Ellen Adarna has already founded a new movement which will surely take the local film industry by storm sometime in the future. She trailblazed the  shaved frontal nudity which will surely become the gold standard for every aspiring sexpot going forward.

What if Ellen & Baste Duterte had a film? A higher-brow target audience might get this title.

A more democratic target audience would probably deserve this title?
