RUSSIAN SUB: Elmo Magalona - "Tayo Na" (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

The latest music video of rising young star Elmo Magalona was just released on October 27 but already, Russian-subtitled videos were released in the Russian VK, the Facebook equivalent of the Russian-speaking space, an area where Pinoy teen stars (and their loveteams) have become  hot pop idols of late.

RUSSIAN SUB: Рождён для тебя / Born For You - Elmo Magalona & Janella Salvador

SO HOW IS ELNELLA DOING? They just had a duet in a London Barrio Fiesta

So how is the newest of the Big 4 young love teams in the Philippines doing? They not only had topped the world Twitter count when their first teleserye came out. They also found the time to sing a duet in front of their fans in London. Now we have a loveteam where both members are actually very good singers.

Big 4 Pinoy Young Loveteams: KATHNIEL, LIZQUEN, JADINE.... ELNELLA?

KATHNIEL: Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla
LIZQUEN: Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano
JADINE: James Reid, Nadine Lustre
ELNELLA: Elmo Magalona, Janella Salvador

Pinoy young love teams became hot items in many parts of the world. They may lack a big propaganda machine behind them to create smokes-and-mirrors of contrived popularity but their more palatable natural cuteness made them the Asian young stars who harvested  the biggest wow points wherever they were shown. Yes, Asians could be cute and hot, especially if  they were Kathniel, Lizquen, Jadine and soon- Elnella.

Their teleserye Born For You is yet to be shown on June 20, but I have a strong hunch the Elmo-Janella love team will make it. I can feel there will be another box-office Pinoy loveteam to join the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine loveteams.  The more, the merrier. More Cute Pinoys to carry the flag of Asia.

SOON, THE BIG FOUR?: Janella & Elmo's Teleserye "Born For You" This June

Soon, we'll know if we have to add a fourth love team to the current Big Three of successful Philippine young love teams. Elmo Magalona & Janella Salvador have all the requisite creds- good looks, pedigree, talent and a teleserye with a cute plot that just might capture big-time the hearts of the masses.

As a bonus, they have international appeal, just like the successful Kathniel, Lizquen & Jadine love teams. From the looks of it, the Philipine brand just keeps getting stronger.

HOT NEW LOVETEAMS TO WATCH FOR 2016?

I asked five of my female friends who they think among certain new loveteams will shine in 2016.  Like me, they only got hooked on Pinoy films last year. All are well-educated successful professionals so not the typical showbiz hags, their choices were most likely well-considered more from logical parameters because their mental faculties normally work that way. Actually, I gave them a choice of 10 pairs. Just for variety, I juggled the pairings of the established loveteams on top of the new ones being groomed by the studios.  These were the Top 3, from the top, the Number 3, down to Number 1.

The Year of Janella: HAUNTED MANSION & BORN FOR YOU Trailers

Well, I've been very open about my admiration at the beauty of 17 year-old Janella Salvador. Her film "Haunted Mansion" was a surprise hit of last year's Metro Manila Filmfest (it is still going strong, ranking 4th in the boxoffice tally as of this writing, easily beating films of more veteran stars at her ABS-CBN home studio).

Box-office Gross (as of December 27, 2015 at 4PM)
1. My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore - P159M
2. Beauty and the Bestie - P 131M
3. #Walang Forever - P 36M
4. Haunted Mansion - P 29M

Just as her first film with her erstwhile loveteam Marlo Mortel, grabbed attention, here comes the news she will have a new loveteam with Elmo Magalona in her forthcoming teleserye., "Born For You"..

A beautiful team-up, I must say. Pinoy loveteams just keep going from strength to strength.

HISTORY TIME: JuliElmo covers "She Will Be Loved"

We can treat this as one of those fateful "could have beens". I only got hot on Pinoy showbiz when I started this blog so I wasn't that aware of the full history of GMA teen loveteam making. I was only aware I was disappointed with the poor quality that I have been seeing on primetime TV since I started this blog last January this year ( Pinoy loveteams are hot worldwide & I wanted to make them all viral but I was stopped on my tracks upon seeing the present GMA teen loveteams as part of my research). In the email reactions to my criticisms to the "alalay look" of the teen loveteams, one thing stood out: almost all the emails have been ended with the misgiving that if only GMA had pushed the Julielmo loveteam through, they could have crushed Kathniel. Well, we don't really know, but that got me researching some more & I discovered Julielmo. From 2011.

My verdict: Yeah, better singers than Kathniel but I haven't seen yet how they would act together. As for star appeal, just equal with Kathniel, but comparing them with the two GMA teen loveteams that disgusted me (those of the primetime youth teleseryes for 2015),  it seemed GMA jumped from the penthouse down to the basement garage. Wonder why.
