So how is the first Aldub teleserye faring? As expected, the two rating agencies are proclaiming their respective champions. Almost as expected, the familiar Twitter deluge was there, almost a signature Aldub phenomenon.

And, well, the theme song is the top song at iTunes too. Nice song & singer.

Will this be the teleserye that will introduce Aldub to a wider audience in foreign shores, like how teleseryes have made stars of many young Pinoy loveteams in many parts of the world?

With the recent renaissance of GMA in the wake of the success of Encantadia & Alyas Robin Hood, the network wars will surely become really interesting come 2017. The top loveteams of ABS-CBN are preparing theirs as we speak. KathNiel of Kathryn Bernardo & Daniel Padilla has La Luna Sangre while LizQuen of Liza Soberano & Enrique Gil already has one in the backburner.

Will they battle each other head on? As they say in Tagalog, Abangan...

It was the secret weapon of its international prominence since late last year with the  success of James Reid & Nadine Lustre in Diary Ng Panget, then consolidated by Enrique Gil & Liza Soberano in Forevermore. This kind of pairing plays into the psychology of the young girl demographic in mixed-race societies where the native girls grow up developing crushes on the mestizo boys (if not the Caucasian themselves). This has been true with the South American natives with Diary Ng Panget, so true in Central Asia where the Russian boys are ubiquitous dreamboats. But this team-up has a prerequisite: it's  imperative that the girl should be beautiful so that lack of credibility will not trip it along the way. The beauty of Aldub is that Maine can also be pretty and sexy (if she tries to be, anyway). If handled right, this team might go places.
