The film "She's Dating A Gangster" is sort of an international hit- it was a smash hit in the various Asian-film fanatic websites from Eastern Europe to Latin America. It's very beautiful theme song "Til I Met You" was an original recording of Kuh Ledesma, one of the biggest music superstars in Philippine history.

La película "She's Dating A Gangster" es una extrana especie de éxito internacional- fue un gran éxito en los diferentes sitios web de fanáticos de peliculas Asiaticas de Europa del Este hasta a América Latina. Su muy hermoso tema "Til I Met You" era una grabación original de Kuh Ledesma, una de las mayores estrellas de la música en la historia de Filipinas.

Local boy bands that rode on the Kpop hype really didn't make it in the Philippines, they were mostly derided as "Kpop parodies" and if not ignored were mostly laughed at. The Philippines has a big South Korean immigrant popultion (estimated to be 100,000 in Manila alone, according to some sectors) so the South Korean boy bands have a ready solid support on their own while the local "parodies" were mainly mocked by the mainstream.Nobody really made it big. So much so, they have been slowly disappearing. That is not to say, they didn't produce gems. I actually liked this video, especially the song which was cute. I hope, the Magno brothers could reinvent themselves, they are good singers & matinee idol materials.

The other boy band, Sugar High, is taking the One Direction route. Let's see if that would be more palatable.

This is an old 2012 clip, when Sam Concepcion became a guest in the top-rated Indonesian TV variety program "Dashyat". The said program is famous for giving annual awards, and it later awarded Sam as its Top Foreign Guest for the year. I was really impressed with his performance here.
